I only visit Chico a few times a year, but when I do visit, I try to have coffee and something to eat with it at the Bidwell Perk. It's a relaxing place, the coffee is good, and the breakfast burrito is guaranteed to satisfy.

The best thing about Bidwell Perk might be how consistent it is. I've been coming here off and on since 2004, it's now on its third owner but through all that its managed to keep its great vibe, excellent drinks, and good food. The service has always been great, the staff is usually made up of Chico State students but they hire well and they're all very friendly and helpful. The owners are usually hands-on too, often taking orders, making/handing out drinks themselves.

The Iced Orange Vanilla Chai with Macadamia Milk is amazing. Clearly the best coffee I have tasted in a long time. Kudos to the staff for recommending the Macadamia Milk as an option.

A lovely cafe atmosphere with friendly staff, amazing coffee (lots of options) and delicious pastries to choose from! I had an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and a blueberry muffin, it was EVERYTHING! You could easily spend the morning here, we will definitely be back! We love The Perk a latte! 🫶🏻☕️🥐

This is a cute little coffee place that's been in Chico since 1996. They do have some breakfast items, but I prefer the quiche and fruit. Or a bagel sandwhich is really good. The atmosphere inside is really nice! The ceiling is painted like a beautiful blue sky and it feels like and open inside with all the windows. The weekends are busy of course but there are a lot of little tables and outside seating with a cute water feature. It's one of my favorite places to meet with friends for coffee and breakfast. You can also bring your dog which is great because they have a big patio area to relax in when it's nice outside.

Bidwell Perk has delicious food, coffee, and tea! They also have the best activities to do when you need to get out of the house and be around friends. I highly recommend them. I am excited that they recently bought the espresso trolley on the corner of Mangrove and 9th Avenue in case you don't have time to stop in.
